The Houston Chronicle — June 26, 2013

More than half the doctors in a recent survey said they plan to operate their own offices, despite lower profits and changes in health care law.

A poll of more than 5,000 doctors conducted by QuantiaMD, an online physician community, and CareCloud, a cloud-based health IT vendor, found more than 35 percent of doctors predicting negative profits during the next year, compared with an estimated 20 percent who said it would be positive. Thirty percent said it would stay the same.
