Eva Guasp of CareCloud

Eva Guasp, CareCloud’s receptionist, greets guests at our front desk every day – always with a smile. But on Monday, January 23, employees and regular visitors noticed a major change in Eva’s appearance: her hair was over a foot shorter.

Eva didn’t undertake her drastic haircut out of vanity. Over the weekend, she’d donated her tresses for a local woman with cancer.

In a captivating piece for the WSJ’s Tech Europe blog, Ben Rooney postulates that health care may serve as the ‘next frontier’ for big data.

First, the two-syllable term is foreign to many outside of the IT field. Big data means that as datasets grow to unfathomable extents, they develop the ability to collect and interpret massive amounts of information – via everything from social media posts to smartphone GPS coordinates.

Today, the excellent service CareCloud provides to a Miami-area medical practice was the subject of a full-length article in the Miami Herald’s Business Monday section.

The long-standing motto of Stanford University, coined nearly a century ago, is “Die Luft der Freiheit weht,” or “the wind of freedom blows.” In 2010, CareCloud rode into Silicon Valley on that very same wind to attend the AlwaysOn Summit at Stanford 2010, an annual technology conference that focuses on growth companies that are striving to disrupt the status quo through innovation. Founder and CEO Albert Santalo traveled to California to represent CareCloud at the event, which took place on July 27-29, and we’re very grateful for the entire experience. Continue Reading…

Happy Friday! Today, we thought we’d give a little shout out to some blogs out there that don’t get as much readership as we think they deserve. We get updates from all sorts of official magazines and publications, but we also enjoy getting a different perspective on the issues from people who are not tied down by editors and such. At CareCloud, we follow quite a few blogs that fly under a lot of people’s radars for some reason or another.

These are usually well-rounded, perceptive, and all-around fascinating sources of news and opinions from some truly knowledgable individuals, all of whom have some special connection to the healthcare industry. We find each of them to be uniquely insightful and incredibly informative, so we’re going to try and help expose the community to these thoughtful and illuminating sources of healthcare news and opinion. Maybe we don’t give them as much credit as they deserve, and maybe they get way more readers than we do, but so what? Continue Reading…

While browsing the Twittersphere, we came upon this ad campaign by German advertising firm Butter. It’s a pin-up calendar that depicts women posing for x-rays, and it’s both a little bit racy and, in my opinion, very novel. This is exactly what we mean when we say we’re trying to breathe some new life into an otherwise bare industry. We love it when companies take a refreshing approach to marketing in our industry, and we hope more people will join us in trying to bring healthcare as a whole into the 21st century.

A lucky few were able to get one of these on eBay, but unfortunately they were sold out before I could grab one to hang in my cube. Oh well.

Albert Santalo, our beloved Founder and CEO, is bringing the CareCloud revolution to European shores, further solidifying the limitless potential of our game-changing company. He currently finds himself in Spain, making waves and rocking the boat at HIT Barcelona, part of the World Innovation Summit 2010. We wish him the best of luck in extending CareCloud’s reach across the globe and showing the world a thing or two about how to create effective solutions to real problems.
